Air Cargo Screening Services

Providing air cargo export screening services at all UK airports as a Regulated Agent (UK/RA/00912-01/1019)

Legislation states that all cargo loaded onto a passenger-carrying aircraft must undergo one of the approved methods of security screening before it can be accepted by the airline. These are consist of Known Consignor Procedures, screening by X-Ray (primary), physical examination including searching by hand (primary), Remote Explosive Scent Tracing (REST) formally known as Air Sampling Canine Olfaction (RASCO ) (secondary) and Decompression/Flight Simulation (secondary)

These screening types, except for Known Consignor Procedures, are in general order of preference with X/Ray/Hand Search having to be used before one of the secondary methods can be considered. If one of the secondary methods is the only method that screening can be undertaken then REST must take preference over Decompression. Cargo which has undergone one of these procedures can then be classified as SPX cargo (cargo that has been screened to enable it to be transported on any type of aircraft).
